Assassin's Creed Unity Tells A "Complex, Emotional" Story

By on 3:04 PM

The story for Ubisoft's upcoming action game Assassin's Creed Unity will be "complex" and "emotional," according to Dan Jeannotte, who plays protagonist Arno Dorian. He says it was the nature of the game's story (as well as Arno being a "badass") that drew him to the project in the first place.
"When I read the script, I was really impressed with the dedication to telling that kind of emotional story; to the commitment of the writer and Ubisoft in general to tell this kind of complex, emotional story," Jeannotte says in a Ubisoft video interview. "It's not simple. It's not black and white."
Regarding the nature of his work for Assassin's Creed Unity, Jeannotte says it was "such a treat" to be able to wear a motion capture suit as a means to "really embody the character physically." This helped him deliver his lines better because he could "really feel who [Arno] was."
Assassin's Creed Unity takes place in Paris during the French Revolution. We also know that the game will tell something of a love story between Arno, an Assassin, and a Templar woman named Elise. The game launches October 28 for Xbox OnePlayStation 4, and PC. Another entry in the series, Assassin's Creed Rogue--which lets you play as a Templar--comes to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 two weeks later onNovember 11.
