Steam Store gets support for 11 new currencies

By on 2:02 PM

New support for a number of local currencies is being added to the Steam Store, Valve has confirmed.
Japanese Yen was added in late August, followed by currencies for Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand on Wednesday.

Canada, Mexico, Korea, Turkey, and Norway will gain local currencies on the digital store "in the coming weeks", according to Valve. "New payment methods are also being added in these regions," it added.
This will bring the total number of supported currencies on Steam up to 16.
A recent Steam update added a new UI feature that lets users download multiple Steam games more conveniently.
In June Valve announced that Steam had broken the 8 million concurrent users milestone for the first time in its history.
